ACHIEVEMENTS

 

  • Incidence for the establishment of the National Day of Biosphere Reserves and Biological Corridors of El Salvador, decreed by the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador on June 29 of each year.

  • Incidence for the establishment of the National Day of the Protected Natural Areas of El Salvador, decreed by the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador on November 17 of each year.

  • Strengthening the capacities of key personnel of the Office of the Procurator for the Defense of Human Rights (PDDH) on issues of the Green Agenda for the establishment of a reference in environmental issues in each of the fourteen departments of the country.

  • Strengthening of capacities addressed to Advisors, teachers, children and young people of the School Centers of the MINED who participate actively in the management and consolidation of the Trifinio Fraternidad Transboundary Biosphere Reserve (RBTF), a process that involves 1, 135 teachers from 247 School Centers of the RBTF, as well as 17 management consultants (ATG) and technical pedagogical advisors (ATP) which influence the training process of an estimated 26,000 students.

  • Formation and strengthening of the Network of Women of the Trifinio Fraternidad Transboundary Biosphere Reserve (RBTF) El Salvador with representation of women from the municipalities of La Palma, San Ignacio, Citalá, Santa Rosa Guachipilín, Metapán, Masahuat, Texistepeque and San Antonio Pajonal.

  • Formation and strengthening of the Defense and Management Committee of the Trifinio Fraternidad Transfrontier Biosphere Reserve with 30 organizations involved to date.

  • Preside over the Advisory Committee of the Trinational Commission of the Trifinio Plan during the period 2012 to 2015, managing to integrate 120 organizations at a Trinational level.

  • Implementation of management actions aimed at the protection and conservation of the El Balsamar protected natural area and implementation of sustainable development actions in the communities of its buffer zone from 2006 to date.

  • Research processes focused on natural non-timber goods in alliance with the Evangelical University of El Salvador.

  • Political incidence on the topic of climate change through individual and collective positioning made through the Climate Change Board of El Salvador.
